Introduction to Data & AI
This first module provides an introduction to data science and AI, giving participants a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts and principles. The six-day curriculum forms the foundation of the Mastering Data & AI program and is designed for professionals who:
- Want to explore the (im)possibilities of data science and AI within their organization.
- Seek a deeper understanding of how to execute data science and AI projects and improve these processes within their organization.
- Want to apply their knowledge directly in practice, creating a tangible impact on their work and organization.
- Depending on theirchosen learning path (Business Managers Track or Expert Track):
- In the Business Managers Track, they will develop the skills of an analytics translator, learning to bridge the gap between business and technology using a low-code machine learning development environment (Knime).
- In the Expert Track, they will focus on training and deploying machine learning algorithms using Python, the most widely used programming language for machine learning.
Competencies and key learning objectives
After completing the 6-day module, participants are able to:
- assess the viability and potential of candidate data science / machine learning projects in their organization;
- execute a data science project using the CRISP-DM methodology;
- grasp the basic principles underlying data science / machine learning problems and know how to apply them;
- understand and apply commonly used machine learning techniques in Python or Knime and integrate them in a pipeline to load, explore and model data, and evaluate results;
- assess the quality of data science & AI projects.
