This year, the annual IEEE RO-MAN conference - an international platform for research on human-robot interaction - will be held in Eindhoven. From August 25 to 29, the Eindhoven University of Technology will host researchers, participants from robotics companies, designers, educators, and professionals from around the world. The conference offers space to share insights, methodologies, and technologies that support collaboration between humans and robots.

Human and Robot

The 2025 theme, Shaping our hybrid future with robots together, invites reflection on the role of robots in our society. Rather than replacing humans, robots are envisioned as complementary team members. Participants will explore how robots can develop social skills and how interaction models can support effective teamwork. The conference encourages forward-thinking about a future where humans and robots work together with greater productivity, efficiency, and enjoyment.

Honored Role

This year’s edition is organized by an international team, led by the general chair Emilia Barakova, of the department Industrial Design. She has long been active at the intersection of technology and social interaction.

It is an honor to organize this edition of RO-MAN. The trust placed in us is motivating, and I look forward to shaping an inspiring program with the great team of exceptional researchers.

Global Audience

The conference attracts a diverse audience of scientists and professionals from fields such as robotics, psychology, cognitive science, AI, ethics, and design. Participants present and discuss current studies, experiments, and visions for the future of human-robot collaboration. A large number of workshops will discuss burning topics, and an exhibition of sociable robots from companies as Honda Research Institute, Europe, LuxAI, Pal Robotics, Furhat Robotics, around the world will be available.
