Affordable Care

Collin Drent focuses on keeping personalized healthcare accessible.

His research aims to develop optimization models that make precision medicine financially viable. By combining techniques from mathematics and game theory, he seeks to design new decision-making and payment models that support physicians, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

According to Drent, it is essential that life-saving treatments are not only technologically possible but also financially sustainable.

Smart Mobility

Rolf van Lieshout investigates how mathematical models can contribute to a fairer and more efficient transportation system.

His project focuses on designing algorithms that take societal interests into account, such as accessibility and sustainability.

By revisiting existing models and developing new optimization strategies, he aims to contribute to a transport system that is not only fast and efficient but also equitably distributed.

Other Recipients

In addition to Drent and Van Lieshout, Marta Gil P茅rez, Alessandra Galli, Giulio D鈥橝cunto, Samantha Fairchild, Alexandra Lassota, S茅bastien Callens, Paula Chanfreut, and Jacob Kr眉ger also received a Veni grant. Their projects span a wide range of fields, from sustainable building materials to fundamental physics.

About the Veni grants

Looking Ahead

The Veni grant is part of the NWO Talent Program, alongside the Vidi and Vici grants (formerly known as the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme).

This program is designed for promising researchers who have recently earned their PhDs and offers them the opportunity to develop their own line of research over a three-year period. Within the Talent Program, researchers are free to propose their own topics for funding, encouraging curiosity-driven and innovative research.

NWO selects recipients based on the quality of the researcher, the innovative nature of the proposal, the expected scientific impact, and the potential for knowledge utilization.

With ten Veni awards this year, 果冻传媒 demonstrates its commitment to providing young researchers the space to explore and expand their ideas.
