In Memoriam: Jimme Andries Keizer

30 september 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear (former) colleague, Jimme Keizer, a long-standing and cherished member of our team.

Last year, Jimme was diagnosed with a serious illness, and he passed away recently. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his work, his students, and his colleagues. Jimme served as a dedicated assistant professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒) for nearly 27 years, from 1989 until his retirement in 2016, after which he remained actively involved with the 果冻传媒. His passion for teaching, research, and academic development was evident in every role he undertook.

Jimme began his career in 1976 as a researcher in the Department of Social Psychological Affairs with the Koninklijke Landmacht in Den Hague. Two years later, in 1978, he transitioned into the role of organizational consultant for the Gereformeerde Kerken in the province of Groningen. This enabled Jimme to obtain his doctoral degree, in 1988, from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, on the topic of motivation and workjoy among preachers.

In 1989, Jimme joined the 果冻传媒 at the Department of Technische Bedrijfskunde in the Organisatiekunde group (now the ITEM group, Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences). Over the years, he taught a wide range of subjects, including organizational processes, organizational change, and logistics. Jimme also supervised numerous bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚 and PhD students, leaving a lasting impact on their academic and professional journeys. His influence extended beyond the classroom as he played a key role in curriculum development, particularly as chair of the Innovation Management master's program

Jimme鈥檚 lengthy tenure at 果冻传媒 stands as a testament to his dedication and love for his work, and his strong commitment to the 果冻传媒. In 2008, he accepted a position as lector at the Hogeschool Zuyd (Maastricht). Next to his position at Hogeschool Zuyd, Jimme remained actively involved with the ITEM group, continuing to contribute to its success.

Jimme will be remembered as a kind, social, and highly respected colleague. His contributions not only elevated the quality of our programs but also helped foster the collaborative spirit that is a hallmark of our group and the 果冻传媒 at large. His warmth, expertise, and commitment have left a lasting legacy.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Jimme鈥檚 partner, Sity, as well as Dorien, Martijn and Lotte and his extended family and friends. Rest in peace, Jimme!
