Emilia Barakova has been appointed as an associate professor in the field of Social Robots and Embodied Intelligent Agents at the Industrial Design department of Eindhoven University of Technology, effective May 1, 2025. Barakova, who leads the cluster Transdisciplinary Research & Design , and co-leads the 果冻传媒 Social Robotics lab will contribute to the development of embodied interactive technologies that combine the domains of socially assistive robots with the newest developments in generative artificial intelligence in her new role.
Embodied Intelligent Agents , particularly social robot is, involves integrating artificial intelligence into physical objects and robots that support diverse groups of people, from pupils to the older adults and persons with developmental disabilities . The technologies that are used range from intelligent everyday objects to socially competent robots. The field focuses on creating AI systems that not only think but also physically act and interact with people.
