Our research meets the highest international standards of quality. Moreover, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ combines scientific curiosity with a hands-on mentality. In other words, fundamental knowledge enables us to design solutions for the complex problems of today and tomorrow. We understand things by making them and we make things by understanding them. Our distinguishing excellence is based on our three-pillar strategy: attracting talent, using a multidisciplinary approach, and providing a stimulating research environment. Societal challenges on artificial intelligence, sustainability, health, and quantum photonics are the driving forces behind our research.

To conduct groundbreaking research, to attract outstanding scientific talent, and to train new generations of engineers, we have state-of-the-art research labs and facilities at our disposal. Some of our labs are unique in the Netherlands, or even in the world. 

¹û¶³´«Ã½ is a young university, founded in 1956 by industry, local government, and academia. That spirit of collaboration is still at the heart of our university community. As an employee of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ you will fall under the collective agreement (CAO) for Dutch Universities, with the corresponding salary scales and secondary employment conditions. For example, you will receive an annual vacation allowance of 8% of your annual salary. You are also entitled to paid and unpaid parental leave and a pension scheme. Furthermore, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ offers its employees a year-end bonus of 8.3% of the annual salary and 41 days of vacation based on a full-time job. In most cases, it is possible to work (partially) from home. ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is an international university, where one third of the academic staff consists of foreign staff. Moving to another country, with its different habits, rules, and procedures, can be a big step. Therefore, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has a special support team to help you with your transfer to the Netherlands. They can assist you with residence and labor permits, family reunion procedures and other practical matters. Additionally, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ promotes a healthy work-life balance and has many facilities to help you and your family feel right at home. For Professors (Assistant, Associate and Full), ¹û¶³´«Ã½ also offers a Partner Career Support Program.

Om baanbrekend onderzoek te doen, excellent wetenschappelijk talent aan te trekken en nieuwe generaties ingenieurs op te leiden, beschikken we over state-of-the-art onderzoekslaboratoria en -faciliteiten. Sommige van onze labs zijn uniek in Nederland, of zelfs in de wereld.

De ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is een jonge universiteit, opgericht in 1956 door het bedrijfsleven, de lokale overheid en de academische wereld.
