RESEARCH PROFILE

Dominik M. Juraschek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics and Science 果冻传媒 of Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒), associated with the Advanced Nanomaterials and Devices group. He leads the Dynamical Quantum Matter group, whose research focuses on engineering the functional properties of materials through nonlinear vibrational processes. Visit for more information on the group and its research. The most recent focus lies on an emerging field called chiral phonons, which investigates novel physical phenomena arising from the angular momentum of circularly moving atoms in solids. Dominik received several awards, including the ETH Medal in 2019, as well as competitive grants, including the ERC Starting Grant CHIRALPHONONICS in 2024.

Vibrations of atoms at the nanoscale allow us to control the properties of materials, which may at one day form the basis of new ultrafast devices.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Dominik M. Juraschek received his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2019, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University from 2019-2021 that was supported by an Early Postdoc.Mobility Fellowship of the Swiss National Science Foundation. He then became a Senior Lecturer (tenure track) at Tel Aviv University from 2021-2024, building an independent research group. In October 2024, he was appointed Assistant Professor with tenure at Eindhoven University of Technology.
