RESEARCH PROFILE
I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Control Systems Technology group, Mechanical Engineering department. I am active in the field of control theory and its intersections with optimization and formal methods. My specific research interests span the following:
- The interface of formal methods and dynamical systems.
- Finite-state models of dynamical systems (formal abstractions).
- Verification and control through finite abstractions, formal languages and automata.
- Stochastic dynamics and control.
- Markov Decision Processes, Reinforcement Learning.
- Information-theoretic tools in control.
- The interface of optimization and control.
- Optimization-based control techniques for safety-critical tasks (control-barrier functions, projection-based control).
- Feedback optimization (optimization algorithms interconnected with dynamical systems, online optimization of dynamical systems).
- Nonsmooth dynamics.

Philosophy and ideology play an immense, although subtle, role in science. They predispose scientists regarding how to interpret observations and experiments, what hypotheses to make or to discard. Hence, scientists have to be aware of their philosophical preconceptions.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
I obtained the Diploma (joint BSc. and MSc. degree) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2017. I obtained my PhD, Cum Laude, from Delft University of Technology, in 2022. Between June 2022 - November 2022 I held a Postdoc position at Delft University of Technology.
