RESEARCH PROFILE
Gizem Korpeoglu is an assistant professor in the Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences Department at the Eindhoven University of Technology (¹û¶³´«Ã½). Gizem’s papers provide policy and managerial insights for practitioners about innovative marketplaces, platform operations, social sustainability (ESG) in supply chains, competition, and diversity & equity & inclusion (DEI). Gizem’s papers appeared in leading operations journals, Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production & Operations Management. In her papers, Gizem uses game theory and behavioral experiments. Gizem’s research was recognized by various awards. One of her papers received the winner award at the INFORMS Technology, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) Best Working Paper Competition in 2020, and another one received the runner-up award in the same competition in 2018. Two of Gizem’s papers received the paper-of-the-month award from the INFORMS TIMES in 2021 and 2023. Her recent experimental paper received the third prize at the POMS College of Behavior in OM Junior Scholar Paper Competition in 2024. Gizem received the Irene Curie Research Grant (€100,000) in 2020 and research excellence awards in 2020, 2021, and 2022 from ¹û¶³´«Ã½. Gizem has been serving as a member of the INFORMS TIMES Board since 2020. Gizem had the honor of serving as the President of the INFORMS TIMES Board from 2022 to 2023. Currently, she serves as the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer of the INFORMS TIMES Board.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Gizem received her PhD and MS degrees from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University. She received her BS degree from the Middle East Technical University. Before joining ¹û¶³´«Ã½, Gizem worked at the Bilkent University Industrial Engineering Department as an assistant professor and at the UCL School of Management as a postdoctoral research fellow.
