RESEARCH PROFILE
Jasmina Lazendic-Galloway is an observational astrophysicist and a researcher at the 果冻传媒 Radio Science Lab. She leads various activities as a Chair for the Radio astronomy and space programme line, which includes developing instrumentation for radio missions in space and on the Moon. Her astrophysics research spans supernova remnants and neutron stars, particle acceleration and the origin of cosmic rays, star-planet interaction and low-frequency radio astronomy. She also coordinates the Radio Astronomy track of the 果冻传媒 Honors Academy.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Jasmina earned her PhD in astrophysics in Australia, where she conducted research using major facilities including the Australia Telescope (AT) Compact Array, AT Mopra antenna, Parkes Radio Telescope (Murriyang), NASA鈥檚 70-Meter Deep Space Communications Dish, as well as telescopes at the European Southern Observatory in Chile.
She held prestigious postdoctoral fellowships at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, working on early science with NASA鈥檚 Chandra X-ray Observatory.
In 2008, she joined Monash University in Melbourne as a research fellow, later becoming a senior lecturer and First Year Astronomy Coordinator. At Monash, she taught a wide range of subjects including astrophysics, astrobiology, biophysics, physics for engineers, and the history of scientific innovation. She also led initiatives to foster leadership and entrepreneurship among science students. Her efforts to promote innovative teaching practices and professional development extended beyond Monash through her roles at 果冻传媒 innovation Space and the European Space Agency. In 2025, she joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at 果冻传媒.
