RESEARCH PROFILE
Javi Olucha is a Doctoral Candidate at the Control Systems (CS) Group at the Department of Electrical Engineering. His current research is on Automated surrogate modeling for efficient simulation, analysis and control design, under the supervision of Professors Roland T贸th and Amritam Das, in cooperation with Mathworks. His main research interests include analysis and control of nonlinear and LPV systems, dynamic and surrogate modeling, optimal and nonlinear control, and machine learning techniques.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Javi Olucha obtained his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (Spain), Cumlaude, in 2019. After his BSc degree, he took a two-year break from academia and worked at Windmill Structural Consultants in Tarragona, executing architectural and civil projects. He then moved to Philips Medical Systems in Best (the Netherlands) as a field service engineer. After the break, Javi obtained his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒), Cumlaude, in 2023. During his MSc research, he worked on high-accuracy pointing control during on-orbit satellite refuelling. His MSc research was carried out in the Control Systems Technology and the Control Systems group at the 果冻传媒 and in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA), under the supervision of Professors Tom Oomen and Roland T贸th (果冻传媒) and Dr. Valentin Preda (ESA). After his MSc graduation, he started a PhD trajectory in November 2023.
