Orlando is a doctoral candidate within the Innovation Technology and Entrepreneurship Group (ITEM) within the Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences Department. His research focuses on the institutional settings that hinder or enable the diffusion of mission-driven innovations developed in fieldlabs. His research is embedded within the FieldLabs@Scale project, which involves a broad, interdisciplinary consortium that conducts research into the upscaling of mission-driven innovations by field labs in various domains: smart industry, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure.
