RESEARCH PROFILE
Vivekanand Swami is a doctoral candidate in the Multi-scale Modelling of Multi-phase Flows group at Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒). As part of his doctoral research, he mainly focuses on the implementation and development of advanced optical (high-speed shadowgraphy) and laser-based diagnostics (PDA, SLIPI) techniques for fundamental understanding of complex multiphase flow phenomena, especially concerning and governing atomization and sprays.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Vivekanand graduated with a master's degree with distinction in Chemical Science & Technology from DIAT (DU), India in 2015. His master's research thesis was focused on 'Inhibition of Hydrogen Flames using Various Chemical Inhibitors'. He holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Petrochemical Engineering (2008-2012) from Dr. BATU, India.
After his master's and a short stint in industry, he returned to his alma mater as a Junior Research Fellow to extend his master's work on the experimental investigation into the suppression of hydrogen flammability for safe hydrogen handling and use.
Later and prior to starting his PhD in Multi-scale Modelling of Multi-phase Flows group of Prof. Kuipers, he moved to Bangalore (India) as a Research Associate in the Combustion & Spray Laboratory at Indian Institute of Science (IISc). During this time, he focused on the experimental characterization of engine fuel sprays using laser-based diagnostics and optical patternation techniques.
