About
The Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES), founded in 2020, accelerates the energy transition by driving research excellence and societal impact. It connects researchers with industry and society, fostering a community of experts, students, and startups in renewable energy and climate impact. EIRES hosts interdisciplinary communities on hydrogen, batteries, energy, and sustainable chemistry to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. With 140 researchers, 450 PhD candidates, and 12 student teams, EIRES provides academic support, funding assistance, and networking. Notable energy startups include Rift (metal fuels), DENS (hydrazine generators), and ELEO (battery systems).
