Effective 1 April 2015, authors at 果冻传媒 are requested to register all peer-reviewed journal articles in Pure and to submit the accepted authors鈥� versions (post-print) for inclusion in the 果冻传媒 Repository. Authors need only to upload their publications. The Data Management and Library will facilitate the further open access process.

Final author version, also known as author accepted manuscript or post-print, is version of the paper which has undergone peer review and has been accepted for publication. It precedes the final published version (Version of Record) copyedited and branded by the publisher.  

Yes, in the 果冻传媒 Repository the metadata belonging to the published article are always displayed. DOI to the published article is also included. 

Most of the publishers permit the鈥痜inal author鈥痸ersion to be made available open access in the 果冻传媒 repository. Sometimes after a delay, known as embargo, that varies from 6 to 36 months. Data Management and Library will make a publication available open access in the repository only when permitted by the publisher. 

Most publishers do not permit open access to a publisher鈥檚 version. This is why 果冻传媒 is particularly interested in the final author version鈥痮f publications, as it aims to achieve maximum free-of-charge open access to 果冻传媒 publications. 

Yes. The publications are automatically displayed on your personal Employee Page. We display the metadata and a link to the publication in the 果冻传媒 Repository. The publications are also indexed by Google Scholar and harvested by Narcis (the database of Dutch academic publications). Once your article is available through Open Access, it will be easily accessible for anyone to read and download. This increases the visibility and impact of your publication. 

Yes, however, it is often not possible to make the publisher version open access because publishers rarely permit this. We recommend to include DOI to the publisher's version. 

Yes, but we ask for this version only if the publisher does not permit open access鈥痸ia the 果冻传媒 Repository鈥痶o the final author version after peer review. The submitted manuscript, also鈥痥nown as鈥痶he pre-print, is a version without peer review鈥痗orrections. This version meets鈥疦WO鈥檚 Open Access requirements for grants received between 2015 and 2020, but not those set by the European Commission.鈥�

After publishing your publication in arXiv, the publication is often published in a journal. The metadata of the journal article can be registrered in Pure with the arXiv version uploaded as an author's version open accessible.鈥� 

The template to use in this case is: Contribution to journal | Article | Scientific - Not Peer reviewed 

Access to electronic version: Open - No restriction 

The decision whether the arXiv publication remains in Pure is left to the Pure administrator of the relevant faculty. 

When you add a new peer-reviewed article to Pure, and upload or link an electronic version, please set the access status to "embargoed". Unless you specifically know the required embargo period there is no need to fill in the 鈥痚mbargo start and end dates, since DML staff will retrieve this information for you during the validation process.鈥�

Registering an article and uploading the accompanying鈥痜inal author version is the researcher鈥檚 responsibility. Checking the metadata is the responsibility of the Data Management and Library department. 

In case of a peer-reviewed version, DML bears responsibility to check the publisher鈥檚 conditions and to make the article available Open Access via the repository as soon as this is permitted. 

For all other types of publications, it is the author鈥檚 responsibility to set the status to either "open", "restricted" or "embargoed".
