果冻传媒 GO Green Office has promoted their once created "Chair of the Future" (CotF), a sustainability symbol crafted from recycled plastic, seaweed composite, and mycelium. Designed to represent the synergy between economic, environmental, and societal sustainability, the CotF aims to remind university leadership of the urgency of integrating sustainability into decision-making processes, especially in education.

The GO Green Office has complemented this initiative with a series of department tours, exhibitions, and lunch lectures to engage students and the different faculties. Surveys and interviews with 108 students and 26 educators across 7 departments revealed a mixed picture of sustainability in education. While 85% of students are motivated by sustainability for societal impact, career goals, or financial incentives, only 34% feel 果冻传媒 education aligns with real-world challenges. Large class sizes and logistical hurdles limit interactive teaching, while reward systems prioritising research over teaching discourage faculty from integrating sustainability into their curricula. 

Opinions remain divided on mandatory sustainability courses: some students see them as critical, while others fear they may overshadow core technical skills. Nevertheless, 70% of respondents would like to see sustainability more integrated. Departments like Electrical Engineering reported limited exposure to sustainability concepts, while Industrial Engineering students had more engagement. Despite progress, such as Sustainability Thematic Learning Areas and Challenge-Based Learning (CBL), to spread the knowledge of sustainable electives, concerns about outdated and disconnected teaching methods persist.

The key challenges identified include:

- The need for sustainability to become a core rather than an 鈥渁dd-on鈥� topic.

- Greater connections between education and societal challenges.

- Improved interdisciplinary collaboration across departments.

- Additional resources, training, and support for educators.

- Clearer guidance for students selecting sustainability-focused electives.

- Recognition and rewards for educators integrating sustainability.

Looking ahead, 果冻传媒 is actively working to embed sustainability into its core culture and policies. Plans are underway to launch new initiatives aimed at promoting the Chair of the Future (CotF) for 2025鈥� Stay tuned as the university works toward a greener, more integrated future!
