Our mission
Our mission is to increase the perceived value of clothing from treating it as something expendable to turning into something multifaceted and valuable. To achieve this, we are repurposing damaged garments, that would otherwise be thrown out, into versatile modules usable both for accessorizing your existing modules or to making brand new personally tailored garments.
Our challenge
Every year, we wear, wash, and discard clothing, often over minor flaws. With 100 billion garments produced globally, only 20% are reused or recycled, while 91 million tons of textile waste pile up. In the Netherlands, second-hand shops reject large volumes due to imperfections, limiting upcycling potential. Many want to repair or customize clothes, but sewing takes skill, time, and effort. Alternatives like snaps or glue come with drawbacks. Existing upcycling efforts often lack affordability or style appeal. A sustainable, modular solution is needed鈥攐ne that makes upcycling accessible, stylish, and easy, promoting circular fashion for everyone.
Our solution
Clip&Wear tackles textile waste and makes upcycling accessible by repurposing discarded garments into reusable fabric modules. This reduces waste while offering a fun way to refresh wardrobes with upcycled materials. At its core, Clip&Wear features an innovative, eco-friendly attachment system that eliminates the need for sewing. Users can combine textile layers in any position, creating endlessly customizable pieces. With durable, professional-looking results and no reliance on zippers or buttons, Clip&Wear empowers individuals to personalize fashion sustainably鈥攌eeping garments in use longer and contributing to a circular textile system.
