Fidgeting is often seen as a distraction, but it鈥檚 actually a natural way to regulate stress and improve focus. My mission is to redefine fidgeting tools by embedding them into everyday textiles through 4D-printed interactive fabrics. By seamlessly blending stress-relief interactions into home environments, I aim to make mental well-being tools more accessible, subtle, and aesthetically pleasing, turning fidgeting into a grounding ritual rather than a stigma.

Most fidgeting tools are visibly distracting, childlike, or impractical for adults in professional or home settings. Many existing designs rely on rigid plastics or loud mechanisms, making them unsuitable for discreet use. Additionally, stress-relief tools are often treated as separate gadgets rather than integrated elements of daily life. There鈥檚 a clear gap in the market for soft, aesthetically integrated fidgeting tools that offer both tactile comfort and functional design without standing out.

I develop 4D-printed textiles that embed tactile fidgeting interactions into soft furnishings like blankets and cushions. Using 3D printing on pre-stretched fabric, my designs create dynamic textures that respond to touch, allowing users to press, squeeze, or bounce surfaces naturally. Unlike conventional tools, these textile-based solutions blend seamlessly into interiors, making fidgeting more discreet, intuitive, and socially accepted while promoting stress relief and focus.
