We warmly invite you to the Annual Event of Women in Science Eindhoven (WISE), focusing on the diverse timelines and paths in scientific careers. 鈥淐aptain of my career: Navigating timelines and transitions鈥� aims to challenge the conventional notions of career success and explore the individual journeys that lead to personal and professional fulfillment. Whether you are a junior or an experienced professional, this event will leave you with the understanding that there is no single path to success. Instead, it is the commitment to your goals and the determination to navigate your unique journey that truly defines your achievements. 

The presentation of our keynote speaker  will focus on the post-PhD career prospects. Given the rise in PhD graduations, an increasing number of PhD holders need to find employment outside academia. She will explore the strengths and weaknesses of such a career transition and conclude her talk with some recommendations. She will base her insights on her own investigations and data from the CBS. In 2017, in collaboration, she created a brochure featuring 10 portraits of PhD holders working outside academia:

The event will also feature the personal stories of 果冻传媒 researchers Marta Costa Figueiredo, Hans Heuts and Nataliya Lushnikova, providing examples of the varied paths to career achievements.

Additionally, Mariette van den Heuvel and Saskia van Meurs, both Career Counselors from , will host an interactive group discussion, which will allow participants to reflect on their own experiences and learn from others.

We will close the day with drinks and a buffet-style dinner.
