Bo van Schie
Department / Institute

RESEARCH PROFILE
Bo began her PhD in 2024, focusing on developing a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms underlying electrochemical C–N bond formation. Her research will make use of in-situ characterization techniques, including Differential Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry (DEMS) and Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, to characterize reaction mechanisms.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Bo earned both her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and her Master's degree in Nanomaterials Science from Utrecht University. Her Master's thesis investigated the influence of ultrasound on the shape formation of nanoparticles. During her internship, she focused on the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (COâ‚‚) to ethylene.
