RESEARCH PROFILE
Dirk Alferink is a Doctoral Candidate in the Dynamics and Control group in the Mechanical Engineering department at Eindhoven University of Technology. His current research interests are physics-guided modeling and identification of dynamic links, and control strategies to compensate for the detrimental effects of dynamic links in motion control applications. During this project, Dirk is supervised by Marcel Heertjes, Nathan van de Wouw, and Rob Fey.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Dirk Alferink received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in 2020. He received a MSc in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2022. His graduation work was titled 'Multivariable HIGS robust control design with discrete-time stability guarantees' in which he developed stability tools for multivariable discrete-time hybrid integrator-gain systems.
