RESEARCH PROFILE

Jan van Dijk is Associate Professor in the Elementary Processes in Gas Discharges group at Eindhoven University of Technology. His fields of interest include modelling of electro-magnetic fields and transport phenomena. In addition, he studies object-oriented code design and tries to use modern C++ idiom such as expression templates for solving coupled linearized systems of equations.

Earlier projects included the modeling of non-thermal biomedical plasma sources and microwave plasma sources for the production of optical fibers.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

Jan van Dijk holds an MSc (1996) and a PhD (2001) in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology (果冻传媒). He then worked as postdoc in the Elementary Processes in Gas Discharges (EPG) group at 果冻传媒, at the University of Illinois (USA) and at Keio University (Japan). In 2003, Van Dijk returned to 果冻传媒 and EPG and received a NWO VENI grant. He is now Associate Professor.
